Day 0
Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport
Day 0: Arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport
Distance: 45km / 50Mnts
Meet on arrival at Kilimanjaro airport or Arusha airport. Transfer to the Charity Hotel for dinner and overnight (45 km, 50 minutes).

Day 1
Tulia Boutique- Machame Gate
Day 1 : Charity Hotel to Machame Gate
The drive from Tulia Boutique to Machame Gate takes around one to two hours. The journey passes through the village of Machame, which is situated on the slopes of the mountain.
We set off from the park gate and walk through the rainforest on a windy trail that climbs a ridge. At lower altitudes, the trail can be muddy and slippery at times, although gaiters and trekking poles are a great help here. We will then continue a short distance until we reach Machame camp.

Day 2
Machame Field - Shira Field
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After breakfast at the camp, we leave the delights of the rainforest and continue along an ascending trail, crossing the valley along a steep rocky ridge. The route now heads west into a river gorge until we reach Shira camp.

Day 3
Shira Camp- Lava Tower- Barranco Camp
Day 3: Shira Camp, Lava Tower and Barranco Camp
From the Shira plateau, we head east up a ridge, passing the junction towards Kibo peak. As we continue, our route changes to the south-east towards the Lava Tower, called ‘Shark's Tooth’ (elevation 4650m/15,250ft). Shortly after the tower, we reach the second junction that takes us to the Arrow Glacier and continue down to Barranco Camp. On this day, you'll end the day at more or less the same altitude as when you started. This day is very important as it prepares your whole body for acclimatisation and summit day.

Day 4
Barranco- Karanga- Valley- Mweka Trail- Barafu Camp
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
After breakfast at the camp, we leave Barranco and follow a steep ridge to the Barranco Wall (elevation 4250m/13,900ft), through the Karanga Valley (elevation 4050m/13,250ft) to the junction that connects to the Mweka Trail and continue to Barafu Camp. At this point, you will have completed the South Circuit which offers views of the summit from different angles.

Day 5
Barufu Camp- Rebmann and Ratzel Glaciers- Stella- Mweka Camp
.Day 5: Barafu Camp to the summit of Mweka Camp
Early in the morning (from midnight to 2am), we head for the ridge between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. Here, you'll have to head north-west and climb through heavy gravel to This is the most mentally and physically challenging part of the trek. At Stella Point, you will make a short rest stop and be rewarded with the most extraordinary sunrise you will ever see.
From Stella Point, you can encounter snow throughout the 1-hour climb to the summit. Once on Uhuru Peak, you will have reached the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro and the roof of the African continent.
From the summit, we start descending directly to Mweka camp, with a stop at Barafu camp for lunch. Here, it is advisable to wear gaiters and trekking poles for the loose gravel descent to Mweka camp. Arrive at Mweka camp on time and enjoy our last night on the mountain.

Day 6: Mweka camp to Mweka gate and hotel
After breakfast at Mweka camp, we continue the descent to the Mweka park gate to collect your prize (summit certificate). The Joagro Safaris Tanzania vehicle will be waiting for you at the Mweka gate to take you back to your hotel in Moshi (about 60 minutes).
