The island is known for its volcanic landscapes, which include craters, volcanic cones and lagoons. It is also an island with a rich historical and cultural heritage. Did you know that the city of Angra do Heroísmo, the island’s capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site?

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrives on Terceira Island - Angra do Heroísmo
This day will be free. You'll be transferred from the airport to the hotel where you're staying. We'll spend some time walking around the city and getting to know the members of the group. Angra do Heroísmo will be our starting point for this adventure.
Day 2
A tour of Terceira
After breakfast, our guide picks us up at the hotel. It will be a day of many experiences. We began with a tasting of the famous cheese da vaca que ri and went on a 4×4 tour to Faja do Raminho. After this adventure, we head to the natural pools of the biscoitos where we stay for about an hour and then have lunch with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea. We continued along the island's beautiful viewpoints and ended the day with a visit to the Agualva waterfalls! Finally, we return to Angra do Heroísmo where we can have the rest of the day free to walk around or do any activity we like.
Day 3
Land of the Brave
At around 9am, our guide meets us again. Today will be another day of sightseeing. We'll start at the Monte Brasil Nature Reserve and continue with a visit to the monument of the bull and the Cruz do Canário viewpoint. We'll still be able to visit Salga at the Battle of Salga, where we'll spend about an hour. Our lunch will be in Porto Martins, once again by the sea! Our afternoon will continue through the Serra do Cume, a place that will not leave you indifferent. We closed the day's activities with a visit to the Grutal do Algar do Carvão. Day 4
Connect with Nature Day
After breakfast, we'll have the guide again to take us on the adventure of the last day of this trip! Around 5 kilometres await us, in a mix of breathtaking landscapes. The route chosen will be the BLACK MYSTERIES TRAIL (PRC01 TER). The route offers a unique opportunity to explore the natural beauty and history of Terceira Island and allows us to get more in touch with history and volcanic nature. Certainly an adventure not to be forgotten. After the walk we'll have a picnic at the Falca Lagoon, and in the afternoon we'll go on another walking route inside the Caldeira da Serra de Santa Bárbara. At the end of the route, we'll return to our hotel to rest and enjoy more of Angra do Herorismo.
Day 5
Returning home
Today is our last day on the island and we'll take advantage of the free time to explore Angra do Herorismo a little more or do optional activities. There are no activities scheduled for this day, so you can enjoy your time at your leisure. At the agreed time, transfer to the airport for your flight home.

What kind of accommodation am I staying in on this trip?
On this trip we’ll be staying at the Zenite hotel

Does Triskelion Expeditions handle the flights?
Yes, although we don’t include the cost of flights in the trip, we can also take care of them if you wish. All you have to do is tell us when you book.
We send you a quote with the price of the flights at the time and then you decide whether to buy with Triskelion, on your own or with another agency.
Are arrival and departure transfers included?
That’s right, transfers are included in the price of the trip.
There is one flight on the trip that is recommended for the group to arrive at the same time, so transfers are available according to the arrival time of this flight. If you opt for flights with a different arrival time, these are no longer included (in which case there is no refund of the transfer fee).
Where do I meet the leader?
The meeting with the leader takes place at the destination airport.
If I enrol alone, do I have to pay an individual supplement?
It is not compulsory, as we will group together those who sign up for a double room with a twin bed (where possible), by sex and order of registration, travellers who sign up for the trip alone. If the number of travellers is odd, the participant who is left alone will have to pay the respective single supplement.
If you want to stay in a single room, then you will have to pay the single supplement.
What documentation do I need to make this journey?
For this trip, if you are Portuguese or live in Portugal, all you need to bring is your identity card or resident card.
Can I arrive before and leave after the group?
Yes, if you want to arrive on Terceira Island before the group and leave after the end of the group trip, you can.
In that case, if you wish, we can book the accommodation for you, or you can choose to buy it without Triskelion Expeditions.
How are meals not included?
Meals that are not included can be taken as a group, in places recommended by the leader or local guides, or you can prefer to eat somewhere else that suits you better, with other people or on your own.
How can I pay for this trip?
A minimum payment of 35 per cent of the cost of the trip is required to confirm the booking.
The remaining amount must be paid at least 45 days before the start date of the trip.
The remaining value of the trip can be paid in instalments up to 45 days before the beginning of the trip.
There is no refund of the amount paid at the time of booking, after confirmation of the trip.
Can I cancel the trip?
You can cancel your trip up until the day we confirm it by email.
If you want to cancel the trip after it has been confirmed, you will incur costs that we have already paid for services to be used on the trip.
