Join us on our first trip to Syria for 2023. After years of civil war, Syria is slowly beginning to return to a level of normality not seen for years. We have designed this itinerary with safety in mind and only include places that are currently considered safe to visit.
There is a huge amount of ancient and modern history waiting to be explored. We will start in the Lebanese capital of Beirut and travel to Damascus, Homs, Aleppo and the magnificent Krak des Chevalliers. We will cover a huge amount of ground with our expert local guide, explaining everything as we go. Depending on the security situation on the ground, the itinerary is subject to change.

We meet at Beirut airport. After that transfer to the hotel.

After breakfast, we will start our journey to Syria in a Syrian vehicle from Beirut to Damascus, where our guide will be waiting at the Syrian border. We then start our visit to the city of Damascus with the Via Recta already mentioned in the Bible.
We visited the Azem Palace which houses the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions and the Impressive, we then visited the Umayyad Mosque with the tomb of Salah ad-Din.
We continue to the chapel of St. Ananias built in the 1st century. Then we have time for shopping in the Souq and when the day ends we will pass by the Window of St. Paul’s Church.

After breakfast, we drive to reach Bosra and visit. (also called Bozrah or Bostra; Arabic: Busra ash-Sham) It is an ancient city 67 miles (108 km) south of Damascus. It was the capital of the Romanian province of Arabia, back to Damascus for the night.

After breakfast we drive north to visit Maaloula, a picturesque village about 60 km from Damascus where people still speak Aramaic, the language of Jesus, we continue to Homs for a short city tour, and we will reach Aleppo where we stay, this which is the largest city in Syria.

After breakfast, we leave to visit the Citadel of Aleppo, an outstanding example of Islamic military architecture, we visit the Omayyad Mosque which is destroyed without minaret and an 11km long part of the exciting covered Bazaars.

After breakfast we drive south to Apamea where one of the highlights of the ruins is undoubtedly the Great Colonnade, once situated along the main avenue of Apamea and running for 2 kilometres -the longest in the Roman world, we head to Hama to see the famous Norias a historic water elevation, machines for irrigation, along the Orontes River, lead to Krak des Chevaliers, the best preserved fortress from Crusader times in Syria.

After breakfast, we leave early for Palmyra, it is one of the most stunning and impressive sites in the whole world, as we can find, part straight streets, part theatre, wall of the Bell temple, and stone remains of Baalshamin, valley of the tombs, the Agora.
We return to Damascus, to spend our last night in Syria, at the Dar Alnoor hotel
At the agreed time, we will take a Syrian vehicle to Beirut airport where we say goodbye and return to our home after an exciting adventure in Syria.
This ends our trip to Syria.

The agency will notify travellers already booked, as soon as the minimum number of participants is reached, so that we can proceed with the purchase of flights and the preparation of the trip.
Approximate cost of flight: 550€
The value of the flight corresponds to a survey carried out in November 2022, it may vary when a new quote is submitted.

The traveller is responsible for carrying all necessary travel documents.
For a trip to Syria, Portuguese citizens wishing to visit the country as a tourist need a visa, so as soon as we have the group confirmed we will ask for each traveller’s details to make the visa request.
No visas are issued in passports bearing a record of entry into Israel. Nor are holders of national passports issued by the Portuguese Embassy in Israel allowed entry.

Triskelion Expeditions and its local partner will request the necessary contact details from all its travellers in order to respond quickly to any incident that may arise during the stay.

A minimum payment of 30% of the trip value is required to confirm the reservation.
The traveller chooses at the time of booking whether to pay for the whole trip or 30%.
The remaining amount must be paid at least 45 days before the travel start date.
The remaining 70% of the value of the trip can be paid in instalments up to 60 days before the beginning of the trip.
There is no refund of the amount paid at the time of booking, after confirmation of the trip.
